The villa occupies a quiet bay on the eastern side of Brac, only 2 m from the sea and 3 km from the small, picturesque towns of Selca and Sumartin. The house, renovated in 2017, offers 380 m² of living space on a plot of 1,800 m². It has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a guest toilet, and sleeps 11 guests, with room for two more on convertible sofas.
Sumartin is the youngest and smallest settlement on the far east of the island. It keeps its calm, unhurried character even in high summer, and its life has long been shaped by ships. Lucica, one of the last working shipyards on the Adriatic, is worth a visit, as is the Franciscan monastery, whose archive holds paintings by Venetian masters, goldsmiths' work, a wealth of books and several incunabula. Selca, 36 km from the larger town of Supetar, is known for its skilled stonemasons and its traditional cooking of lamb, cheese, wine and honey. Those who want livelier evenings can head to Bol or Supetar. Restaurants are about 1 km from the villa, a café bar 1.2 km, and shops, the marina and the ferry about 3 km. Brac airport is 12 km away.
Stone terraces and stairs cascade from the entrance of the property down to the sea and the private beach in front of the house, which has its own boat mooring. Pine trees and Mediterranean planting surround the grounds. The lowest terrace sits right beside the water, finished with greenery and native Brac stone, and furnished with deck chairs and hanging swings, a good place to read to the sound of the waves.
A few stone steps lead up to the main terrace, the heart of outdoor life. Here the heated overflow pool measures 6 m by 5 m with a depth of 150 cm and is set with deck chairs and sunshades. Beside it are a large designer dining table, an outdoor living area with designer seating, a grill and a fireplace that doubles as a bread oven for Dalmatian dishes. A summer gazebo and an outdoor shower add to the comfort. Three arches frame a covered terrace at the entrance to the ground floor, and the whole space faces the sea under the pines, cooled by the mistral breeze.
From the terrace you step into a spacious, airy and modern living room with sofas, armchairs and a surround sound system. The ground floor also holds two fully equipped kitchens with Miele appliances and a bar, a guest toilet and a laundry room. A private wine room stocks a selection of Dalmatian wines, available to buy at an extra charge. The spa area opens off the living room, with a 10 m by 5 m gym, a professional infrared sauna and its own bathroom.
The first floor has three spacious bedrooms, each with a king bed, an en suite shower room and a view out to the sea horizon. Bedroom one also has a dressing room with an extra sofa and its own south-facing terrace with seating. Bedrooms two and three share a south terrace with a hot tub and a private outdoor shower. On the same floor, the entertainment room has two satellite TVs, table football and sofas for films or games, and two convertible single sofas provide extra sleeping space.
The second floor opens onto a large central lobby with a sofa and two very spacious bedrooms. Each has a king bed and an en suite bathroom with both a shower and a bath, and one also has a single bed. Both open onto a sea-view terrace with seating, ideal for a slow morning coffee. An exit on this floor leads to the private parking at the back of the house, with two spaces.
The villa is fully air-conditioned and has Wi-Fi, a SONUS hi-fi system indoors and out, a DVD player and a safe. The kitchens have a Miele stove, two Miele ovens, a range hood, two Liebherr refrigerators with freezers, two Miele dishwashers, a microwave, a Nespresso machine, a kettle, juicer, blender, mixer, toaster and pizza oven. Two washing machines and two dryers, a hairdryer, an iron, an ironing board and a vacuum cleaner are also provided, along with a baby cot and high chair. For time on the water and the coast there are two bikes, a kayak, two SUP boards (subject to availability), five yoga mats, snorkelling gear for adults and children, beach and pool towels, and deck chairs at the beach. Pool heating is available on request for 500 € per week, and pets are welcome for 100 € per pet per stay.
