On the north coast of Brač, the small fishing village of Mirca grew up around the quiet Gumonca bay, and this villa stands just 40 metres from its pebble beach and the sea. The village centre is 100 metres away, with restaurants and a café bar at the same distance and a bus station 300 metres off. The town of Supetar is around 3 kilometres away, the island's main ferry port is 4 kilometres away, and the airport is 32 kilometres from the house. It is a location that combines the slow rhythm of an old Dalmatian village with easy access to the rest of the island and the mainland beyond.
Mirca dates from the 16th century, when settlers first made their homes along the bay, and today its beach and small fishing harbour remain the centre of village life. The Church of the Annunciation of Mary is the village's principal heritage site, with an altar, altarpieces and statues, and a particularly valued Pietà painted by Felix Tironi, an amateur painter from Supetar. Olive growing has long shaped life on Brač, and walking trails wind through old groves around the village. An oil mill that is still in operation houses the Museum of Olive and Oil Production, where visitors can see the old machinery once used to press the fruit and learn how the oil is made. Supetar is close by for shops, a pharmacy, a doctor and a tennis court, all 4 kilometres from the villa, and the nearest marina is 17 kilometres away.
Renovated in 2019, the villa offers 330 square metres of living space on a 1,000 square metre plot. It is composed of a main house and a guest annex, each arranged over a ground floor and a first floor. The two buildings are joined by terraces and a generous porch supported by stone columns. The porch provides welcome shade, a panoramic view of the sea and a large table seating twelve, making it the natural place to gather for long meals. Beyond it, the heated pool with an overflow edge is the heart of the outdoor life, ringed by sunbeds, with pool towels provided and a barbecue for evenings outside. The pool is heated from 15 April to 15 October. Well-kept gardens surround the house, planted with greenery, vegetables and aromatic herbs. A tended path leads from the property down to the pebble beach, passing vineyards and vegetable plots where guests are free to pick organically grown seasonal vegetables, fruit and Mediterranean herbs. Beach towels are also provided.
The ground floor of the main house opens into a spacious and comfortable living area. A fully equipped modern kitchen with a bar sits alongside a generous dining room and a large living room with a television and a fireplace. Three spacious bedrooms also occupy this level, each with a double bed, its own terrace and a private bathroom. An additional toilet with a washing machine completes the floor.
The entire first floor of the main house is given to the master bedroom, the largest bedroom in the villa. It opens onto a large furnished terrace with a view across the open sea. Its own bathroom has a shower cabin and a Jacuzzi bathtub for two, which is heated from 1 April to 31 October.
The guest annex offers a degree of independence. On its ground floor there is a smaller modern kitchen with a living and dining area, together with a double bedroom and its own bathroom. Upstairs, a further double bedroom has a separate bathroom and a furnished terrace overlooking the sea. In total the villa has six bedrooms and six bathrooms plus one separate toilet. The beds comprise two king-size and four queen-size beds, along with two convertible single sofas. The villa sleeps twelve guests, with room for one more, and a baby cot and high chair are included.
The villa is fully air-conditioned and has underfloor heating, with Wi-Fi throughout and satellite television in every room. A CD and DVD player, a hi-fi system, a telephone, a safe and a minibar add to everyday comfort. The kitchens provide two refrigerators, a freezer, two dishwashers, a stove, an oven with a range hood, a microwave, an ice maker, a wine cooler, a filter coffee machine, a kettle, a toaster, a juicer, a blender and a mixer, together with utensils, crockery, glassware and tea towels. An iron and ironing board and a hairdryer are also provided. The source describes the villa as offering access for guests with disabilities. Two secured outdoor parking spaces are available for guests arriving by car.
