Villas in USA
Villa holidays in four distinct regions: California's coast and wine country, Miami's waterfront canals, Hawaii's island settings and the summer Hamptons. Expect private pools, space for groups and plenty of privacy.
Why Choose USA for a Luxury Villa Holiday?
Malibu's beaches, Miami's canals, Kauai's cliffs and Montauk's surf all belong to the same country, which is why the first decision is the coast. Our villas cluster in four places. California runs from Malibu and Los Angeles to the wine country of Napa and Sonoma. Florida centres on Miami and Miami Beach, with the waterfront Venetian Islands and, close by, Hollywood Beach and Hallandale Beach. Hawaii brings the Big Island's Hamakua Coast and Kauai's Secret Beach, and the Hamptons is a summer base around Montauk, Sag Harbor and the villages of the East End. Climate shapes the choice more than distance does, so read Best Time to Visit before fixing dates.
A villa here means space and privacy that is hard to find in a hotel: most homes have a pool, and many add hot tubs, outdoor kitchens, fire pits or a private dock on the water. Food is part of the trip too, from farm-led Californian cooking and Miami's Latin and seafood restaurants to Hawaiian fish and island produce. Families get room for children and teenagers, and multi-generational groups can share five or six bedrooms. If you have a week, we would base you in one region rather than spread it across two; our case for villa living over a hotel stay explains why. The table in Find Your Perfect Villa matches each type of group to a region.

Temperature units
Late spring and early autumn are usually the most balanced months for California and the Hamptons: warm, mostly dry and quieter than high summer. Florida is typically most comfortable from November to April, outside hurricane season, and Hawaii stays warm all year. The trade-off is demand. July and August are peak season, and the best villas are generally booked many months ahead, especially for larger groups.
Historical averages for this area over the past 10 years: typical high and low temperatures, total monthly rainfall and peak wind speed. Conditions vary from year to year.
The figures above reflect the warmer southern coastal climate where most of our villas sit. Mountain, northern and east coast regions differ considerably.
Spring (March-May)
Coastal California warms from highs of around 20°C in March to 23°C in May as the winter rain falls away. Hillsides are green, wildflowers appear in the deserts and foothills, and gray whales are often seen from the coast on their northward migration. Florida is warm and relatively dry before the summer humidity builds, which suits beach stays. Crowds are lighter than in summer outside school holiday weeks, so spring suits couples, golfers and anyone who wants outdoor dining and pool time without peak rates. Coachella in April, near Palm Springs, is the best-known event.
Summer (June-August)
Southern California usually sees highs of 26°C to 30°C with very little rain, which makes Malibu, Santa Barbara and Newport Beach the natural bases for beach days, sailing and paddleboarding. Hawaii is warm and popular with families, with reliable swimming on many beaches. Florida is hot and humid, with afternoon thunderstorms common and hurricane season running from June to November. The Hamptons is at its liveliest, with beach clubs, farm stands and long evenings on the terrace.
Autumn (September-November)
This is often the best balance of warm weather and fewer people. In California, highs of around 27°C to 29°C in September and October come with low rainfall, and the sea is typically at its warmest. Wine harvest is under way in Napa Valley, Sonoma and Paso Robles, with tastings and harvest dinners, and walking and cycling become more pleasant as temperatures ease. The Hamptons is quieter after Labor Day but still mild, good for coastal walks and farm-to-table dining. Florida remains in hurricane season until the end of November, so keep plans flexible. Hawaii is generally uncrowded from late September.
Winter (December-February)
California has its wettest months now, with highs around 19°C and the heaviest rain typically from December to February, though many days are still bright. It suits city breaks in Los Angeles and San Francisco, spa stays and golf. Florida is the main winter sun choice, dry and warm around Miami, the Keys and the Gulf coast, and Hawaii draws visitors for warm water and whale watching from Maui and Oahu. Skiing is available in the Rockies and Sierra Nevada, including Lake Tahoe. New York's holiday windows, the Rose Parade in Pasadena and Christmas by the beach make this a popular season for family gatherings.

Concierge Travel Guide to USA
Distances in the USA are long, so the trip works best built around one region. California is reached through Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) or Palm Springs, Florida through Miami (MIA), Fort Lauderdale or Orlando (MCO), and Hawaii through Honolulu (HNL), Kahului (OGG) or Kona. New York (JFK or LGA) and the small East Hampton airport serve the Hamptons. All are well connected to European, North American, Middle Eastern and South American hubs, and a hire car is usually useful once you land.
Where to Eat
California has the country's deepest fine dining scene. The Michelin Guide covers Los Angeles, San Francisco and the Bay Area, and Napa and Sonoma, where tasting menus pair with Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Farm-to-table cooking, Pacific seafood and Mexican-influenced dishes define the local cuisine. Florida's Michelin Guide covers Miami, Orlando and Tampa, with Cuban, Caribbean and stone crab specialities. Hawaii is known for poke, fresh fish and Pacific Rim cooking, and the Hamptons favours lobster, oysters and Long Island wines. A private chef, a winery lunch or a market-led cooking class are all easy to arrange from a villa.
Beaches
Malibu, Santa Monica and Laguna Beach are among California's best-known stretches of coast, with quieter coves around Laguna and Carmel. Miami Beach and South Beach are Florida's best-known sands, while the Gulf Coast around Naples, Sanibel and Clearwater has calmer water and softer sand. In Hawaii, Waikiki on Oahu, Wailea on Maui and Hanalei Bay on Kauai are the main names. The Hamptons has long Atlantic beaches such as Main Beach in East Hampton, and Montauk is a popular base. Beach clubs are most established in Miami and the Hamptons. For direct sand access, start with our beachfront villas.
Golf
Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill on the Monterey Peninsula are California's most famous public-access courses. Palm Springs has a dense concentration of desert resorts, best from October to April when it is cooler. Florida has more courses than any other state, including TPC Sawgrass at Ponte Vedra Beach and the Naples resort courses. Hawaii has oceanfront golf on Maui and Kauai, and the Hamptons includes Shinnecock Hills and National Golf Links of America. Many resorts offer guest access, and tee times can be arranged in advance. Our golf villas put you close to the fairways.
With Children
Theme parks are a major draw: Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood in California, and Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld around Orlando. Florida also has airboat trips in the Everglades, manatee watching at Crystal River and boat trips from Miami and Naples. California offers whale watching, Yosemite and Sequoia national parks and San Diego Zoo. Hawaii has snorkelling at Hanauma Bay, Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island and humpback whale watching from December to April.
Culture and History
Los Angeles has the Getty Center, the Broad and LACMA, and San Francisco the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the de Young. Miami's Art Deco district and Wynwood murals suit a day on foot, and St Augustine is among the oldest European-founded towns in the country. Honolulu has Iolani Palace and Pearl Harbor. Farmers' markets run year-round in California, and notable festivals include Art Basel Miami Beach in December and the Merrie Monarch Festival in Hawaii.

Distances in the USA are large enough that the choice of base shapes the whole stay. We have homes in California, Florida, Hawaii and the Hamptons, and with 121 villas across them it helps to settle the region first and the style of house second. Timing counts for as much as the area, so check Best Time to Visit before fixing dates.
| Traveller Type | Where to Stay | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Families | Florida, Miami and Fort Lauderdale | Heated pools, space and calm waterfront streets, with beaches close by. |
| Couples | Hawaii, Kauai and the Big Island | Ocean-view settings, quiet coves and a slower pace. |
| Large Groups | California, Los Angeles and Palm Springs | Many villas with five or more bedrooms, plus game rooms, outdoor kitchens and tennis courts. |
| Beach Lovers | Hawaii, Florida and the Hamptons | Long coastlines, with Montauk and Ditch Plains popular in summer. Filter for villas within walking distance of the beach. |
| Food Lovers | California and Los Angeles | A deep city restaurant scene, with wine country dining within reach. |
| Wellness | Hawaii and California | Villas with spas, hot tubs, gyms and outdoor space, near hiking and ocean. |
| Golf Holidays | California, Palm Springs and Florida | Desert and coastal courses within a short drive of golf villas. |
| Luxury Escapes | Miami's Venetian Islands and the Big Island | Waterfront estates with docks, private grounds and concierge support. |
Once you have a region, villas with standout views are a good first filter. Most homes can be paired with concierge support for private chefs, in-villa spa treatments, grocery stocking, yacht or boat charters and restaurant reservations, so tell your villa specialist what matters most before booking. Regions combine well if you pair them sensibly, such as Los Angeles with Hawaii, or Miami with the Florida Keys, but we would limit a trip to two bases.
