La Farinette is an authentic village farmhouse, restored by hand with evident care and close attention to detail. It sits at the end of a charming lane, just beyond the handsome 17th-century château of Rustrel, and offers the ease of space and privacy alongside the genuine rhythm of village life.
A century-old mulberry tree greets arrivals at the entrance and stands between the main house and the garden that holds the pool. Everything lies within a 5-minute walk of the village, with its three cafés and restaurants, a well-known bakery and a grocery stocked with local produce.
The house is arranged around a large sheltered patio, a calm and shaded setting for long aperitifs, lunches and dinners. Several further terraces, each with its own character, catch the light at different hours of the day.
The restoration kept as much of the original fabric as possible, including stonework, beams and ironwork, and added modern comforts. The generous living area, roughly 900 square feet and air-conditioned, brings together a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room and a comfortable sitting room with a fireplace, with ample seating for the whole party to gather. The original wine cellar has been kept as a reminder of the house's past. WiFi reaches throughout the house, and two televisions let adults and children watch at the same time.
The 10m x 5m pool and fenced garden are a particular pleasure, with comfortable sun loungers and a choice of shade or sun. The pool area is fenced and fitted with a security lock for young children, and it looks out over the surrounding hills and the Provençal countryside.
Several hiking trails begin right at the house, one of them leading to the vivid ochre hills known as the Colorado Provençal. Here, at La Farinette, it is easy to slow down and connect with the wonders of Provence.
