Located on the picturesque shores of Lake Como, just 5 km from the city, Villa Maria epitomizes opulent living with its fusion of timeless elegance, stunning natural beauty, and impeccable service.

Villa Maria was restored in the 19th century by the celebrated ballet dancer Maria Taglioni and have since welcomed esteemed guests including Bellini, Rossini, Franz Lizst and Riccordi. It was Taglioni’s hideway when her fame became overwhelming for her. Her son-in-law, Prince Troubetskoy also lived here, banished from Russia after being accused of conspiring against Czar Nicholas I.

Adorned with beautiful frescoes, the finest Italian linens, a curated selection of fine furniture and antiques from the owner's collection, including a magnificent 1911 Steinway Grand piano, every bedroom and living area exudes regal charm.

Ensuring utmost privacy, the villa is nestled within a 7-acre manicured park enveloped by mature trees, accessible via a gated road leading to an underground private garage. Deluxe services and a full staff on hand, including a private Chef and Butler, ensures a seamless and indulgent experience for all guests.

The Courtyard Level features a frescoed entrance hall, a music room, and separate living and dining rooms, each adorned with decorative fireplaces, alongside a spacious, fully-equipped kitchen. On the First Floor, an additional sitting/TV room opens onto a terrace offering breathtaking views, while the Second Floor hosts a living room and a bar/kitchenette.

The property boasts a free-form 9ft deep private heated swimming pool and offers unparalleled vistas of Lake Como. Guests can explore the nearby village through a private gate, with its charming harbor square, 17th-century church, and picturesque garden with a lovely pergola.

The villa shares its estate with Villa Serena, offering guests the option to rent the entire estate for an exclusive retreat.

Please note that the rates shown are for 14 guests. Villa Maria can comfortably accommodate either 14 Adults and 2 Children OR 15 Adults total. Please inquire with a villa specialist for the rates for up to 16 guests.

Minimum Stay

Children & Infants

Due to the fragile nature of historic antiques and decorative features only Children 8 years and older are permitted.

Staff & Services

No third-party suppliers are allowed at the villa. All staff and suppliers must be arranged directly through the villa or the booking agent.

Daily housekeeping services and final cleaning included. Linen changed midweek on Wednesday. Bath towels changed daily.

Chef / Cook Service

Private Chef services included 6 days per week from 8:30 am to 10:00 pm, with 3½ hours rest in the afternoon and one day off or two half-days off per week. Breakfast service from 8:45 am to 10:00 am. Lunch service from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. Dinner service from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Cost of food and beverages not included.

Butler Hours

Butler services included 6 days per week from 8:30 am to 10:00 pm, with 3½ hours rest in the afternoon and one day off or two half-days off per week.

Pool Services

Pool maintenance services included.

Gardening

Garden maintenance services included.

Food Allowance: €2,000 to be paid locally in cash upon arrival.

Staff & Services

Personal laundry services available for €15 per hour. Additional change of bed linen: €40 per set per change. Additional change of bath towels: €20 per set per change.

Additional Bedding

Additional beds are available on request and charged €150 per night per guest.

Cost of fuel for the courtesy boat not included.

Local Tax

Visitor’s tax: The Italian government might require the payment of a Visitor’s Tax (approximately €1.50 – €6.00 per person, per day, depending on the location) and may be applied for the first ten days in the destination. This tax is payable locally in Euros cash.
