Beach House 'Muse' is a romantic holiday home for two, set amid untouched nature on a large estate that descends gently towards the sea and one of the secluded pebble beaches on the eastern side of Bol. The house lies 5 km from the centre of Bol, on the island of Brač, and only around 100 metres from the water. With vines and olives across the grounds and the Adriatic spread out below, the estate feels like a true Mediterranean oasis, an isolated place by the sea where peace comes easily.
Bol ranks among the most appealing destinations on the Adriatic, its broad sandy and pebble beaches stretching both east and west of town. The most celebrated of them is Zlatni Rat, famed for its white pebbles and well suited to relaxed days by the water. The Brač-Hvar Channel draws surfers, kiteboarders and water sports enthusiasts, while the town itself offers a generous choice of restaurants and a rich gastronomic scene. Practical needs are covered in Bol, where shops, cafés, restaurants, a pharmacy, a doctor, a dentist, an ATM, the bus station and the catamaran are all about 5 km away. A marina, a tennis court and a gas station lie roughly 7 km from the house, the airport around 20 km, and the ferry and nearest bank about 35 km.
Reaching the house is part of the sense of seclusion. On arriving in Bol, guests drive east past the Mala Kate church and continue onto the dirt road that serves the natural coves along the eastern stretch of Bol. After roughly 15 minutes on this road, the Beach House Muse estate appears, entered through a large red gate. The access road is gravel and dirt throughout, and private parking is provided at the property. The estate itself covers 8,680 m2 and reaches all the way down to crystal-clear water and a quiet pebble beach, while the house occupies 40 m2 across two levels, a ground floor and a gallery above.
Outdoor living centres on a large terrace that looks out over the Adriatic and the Brač-Hvar Channel, where pods of dolphins are often seen passing. It is furnished with a seating area, sun loungers and a sunshade. A few steps away, a grand mulberry tree casts its shade over a dining table and a barbecue, creating a natural setting for long meals outdoors beneath its branches, with greenery all around the courtyard.
Large glass walls open from the terrace into the air-conditioned ground floor, filling the interior with sunlight and framing views of the sea, the island of Hvar and the romantic sunrises and sunsets. An elegant pairing of wood and turquoise accents defines the space. The living area offers a comfortable sofa, while the modern kitchen is arranged around an island with four high bar stools. It is fully equipped with an under-counter refrigerator, a second under-counter refrigerator with a small freezer, a Miele dishwasher, a four-plate gas stove, an extractor fan that rises from the kitchen island, an oven, a microwave, a kettle, a Dolce Gusto coffee machine, tableware and kitchen utensils. A bathroom with a shower completes this level.
Wooden stairs climb to the air-conditioned gallery, the private sleeping space of the house. Here a queen-size bed is flanked by nightstands, accompanied by a work desk, a floor-standing air conditioner and an LCD TV with Netflix, making it equally suited to restful mornings and the occasional hour of work.
The house runs on solar power, and water for washing and showering comes from a rainwater tank; this water is not intended for drinking. Two floor-standing air conditioners, one beside the kitchen and one in the gallery, keep the interior cool. Wireless internet is supplied via modem, so business and work obligations can be handled comfortably. The LCD TV does not receive terrestrial or satellite channels, but Netflix and YouTube are available. Further equipment includes a vacuum cleaner, a washing machine, a folding drying rack for drying laundry in the sun, a hairdryer and the barbecue. There is no iron, as one cannot be used with the solar system.
Because the house relies on solar energy, guests are asked to use electricity with care. The air conditioners must not run while the doors or sliding walls to the terrace are open, and they should be switched off whenever the house is unoccupied. Pets are welcome for a fee of 15 € per pet per day. For a couple seeking seclusion, sea views and a quiet stretch of the Adriatic shore, this small house offers a rare and restful escape.
