Set high on the hillside of Choulakia on Mykonos, this private retreat looks out across the Aegean, with a view toward the sacred island of Delos and sunsets that sink slowly into the sea. It feels pleasantly removed from the island's energy, yet Mykonos Town is 6.5 km away, the port 4 km and the airport 9 km, so the town and arrivals are only a short drive.
The nearest beaches are Choulakas Beach at 2.7 km and Agios Stefanos Beach at 2.9 km, while Panormos Beach on the north coast lies 8 km away.
The architecture follows the Cycladic tradition, with sculpted white forms, clean lines and soft earthy tones that sit easily within the landscape. Indoor and outdoor living flow into one another. Outside, a private infinity pool is lined with sunbeds and joined by shaded seating and lounge areas, shaded dining areas and an outdoor bar. A gas barbecue and a woodfire oven suit long evenings outdoors, and a private tennis court adds a sporting option.
The ground level is the social centre of the house. The air-conditioned living room opens onto the terrace and pool and looks out to the sea. It is joined by a dining area, a TV lounge with two workspaces, a guest WC and a fully equipped open-plan kitchen with a breakfast bar and stools. Two guest rooms on this level each have an independent entrance, an en suite shower room, air conditioning, terrace and pool access and sea views. One has a double bed, and the other has twin beds that can be joined as a double, plus a private balcony.
The upper level holds three double bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom, air conditioning and direct access to a private balcony. One of them has sea views and a bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub. On the lower ground level, a sixth guest room has an independent entrance, a double bed, an en suite shower room, air conditioning and sea views. This level also has a gym with a treadmill, elliptical machine and free weights, and a dedicated massage room. In all there are six bedrooms and six bathrooms for up to 10 guests.
Every bedroom has air conditioning, and the house also offers WiFi, satellite TV on flat-screen sets, Bluetooth speakers, a washing machine, a dryer, hairdryers, parking and a security alarm. Children are welcome, and a baby cot and highchair can be provided on request. Pets are allowed on request, special events may be considered on request, and smoking is permitted outdoors only.
