Villas in North America
Villa stays across the USA, from Miami's waterfront islands and canal homes to gated Los Angeles canyon estates, most with private pools, room for large groups and space to entertain.
Why Choose North America for a Luxury Villa Holiday?
A dock at the end of the garden is not unusual in Miami, and the hillside estates above Los Angeles tend to come with a gate, a long drive and a view across the canyon. Our villas are all in the USA, and they cluster in two places. In Miami and South Florida the draw is water: the Venetian Islands, Palm Island and North Bay Village for bayfront living, with Hallandale Beach and Hollywood further up the coast. In Los Angeles the pull is privacy and elevation, in neighbourhoods such as Beverly Hills, Sherman Oaks and Coldwater Canyon. Both are a short transfer from a major international airport.
What a villa adds here is space and control over the day. Many homes have a chef's kitchen, an outdoor summer kitchen, a private pool and a hot tub, so the Latin American, Cuban and seafood cooking of Miami and the produce-led kitchens of Los Angeles can be enjoyed at the table or brought home. If we were placing a family or a multi-generational group, we would look first at homes with game rooms, cinemas and sports courts. Couples and friends are usually happier in a city-edge house with skyline or canyon outlooks, and the case for a private house over a hotel is set out in our piece on villa living versus hotels.
For the water, start with our waterfront homes; the table in Find Your Perfect Villa matches areas to travellers.

Best Time to Visit North America
May to June and September to October are the months we would aim for across our villa areas in Miami and Los Angeles: warm, mostly dry and without the crowds of high summer. July and August are the hottest and driest, with highs typically reaching 30°C in August, but they are also the busiest, and family holidays follow school calendars. Rain tends to arrive between December and March. Our villas are all in the USA, so the rest of this guide leans towards American destinations.
Spring (March-May)
Spring is steady and comfortable, with highs typically rising from 20°C to 23°C. Rain falls away quickly after March, hillsides and gardens turn green, and wildflowers and cherry blossom appear in parts of California and Washington, DC. Crowds are lighter than in summer, which suits couples and golfers, and the desert Southwest is at its best for golf now and in autumn. Yosemite hiking, whale watching along the Pacific coast and the Coachella and Kentucky Derby weekends all fall in these months. Villas are easier to book, with wider choice.
Summer (June-August)
Summer is peak season, with highs typically between 26°C and 30°C and very little rain. Beaches in California, Florida and the Hamptons are at their busiest, and conditions suit swimming, paddleboarding, sailing and boating around Miami's Venetian Islands; the Atlantic is warmest from July to September. Evenings are long and warm, with open-air dining, live music in Nashville, rooftop tables in New York and July 4th fireworks. Popular villas are usually reserved many months ahead, so book early.
Autumn (September-November)
Early autumn stays warm, with highs typically around 27°C–28°C through October, and rainfall is light until November. Sea temperatures generally remain pleasant into October on the southern coasts, including Southern California. This is harvest season in Napa Valley and Sonoma, and a strong time for food-led trips, walking and cycling. New England and the Rocky Mountains usually peak for autumn colour from late September to October. Crowds fall after Labour Day, and Nashville, Los Angeles and Miami all feel more relaxed.
Winter (December-February)
Winter is the wettest season, with monthly rainfall typically above 80mm, though days stay mild. Florida and the southern states generally offer the most reliable winter sun, while the Rockies, Sierra Nevada, Utah and Whistler in Canada are the main ski regions from December to March. Christmas markets and festive lights draw visitors to New York, Chicago and Quebec City, and the Rose Parade opens the year in Pasadena. Wellness stays, spa villas, golf and city breaks are all popular, with lower rates outside the holiday weeks and shorter queues at major attractions.

Concierge Travel Guide to North America
Distances in North America are large, and the landscape shifts from Pacific surf towns to Atlantic harbour cities, desert resorts and Rocky Mountain valleys, so choose one or two bases. Our villas sit entirely within the USA, mostly in Miami and Los Angeles. Most guests fly into Miami International or Los Angeles International, both well connected through hubs in Europe, North America, the Middle East and South America, and many villas are a short drive from either. New York JFK, Chicago O'Hare, Toronto Pearson, Nashville, Denver and Vancouver are other common arrival points.
Where to Eat
The Michelin Guide covers New York, Chicago, California, Florida, Washington DC, Toronto and Vancouver, among others. Expect tasting-menu rooms in Manhattan and Chicago, seafood and Latin American cooking in Miami, and farm-led menus in California. Wine is a major draw: Napa and Sonoma are the best known, with Santa Barbara and Paso Robles close behind, and Oregon's Willamette Valley is respected for Pinot Noir. Food experiences include private chef dinners at the villa, market tours, oyster tastings on the Atlantic coast and Texas barbecue pilgrimages.
Beaches
South Beach and Key Biscayne in Florida, Malibu and Santa Monica in California, and Hawaii's Waikiki and Lanikai are among the most visited shores. Quieter stretches include Florida's Gulf coast islands, Carmel-by-the-Sea and Cape Cod's outer beaches. Beach clubs are strongest in Miami and Los Angeles, usually offering day beds, dining and cabanas. To stay on the sand itself, browse our beachfront villas.
Golf
Pebble Beach and Pinehurst are among the most celebrated destinations, and Augusta, Bandon Dunes, Kiawah Island and Scottsdale's desert courses are well regarded among golfers. Resort stays often include practice facilities, tuition and spa access, and you can also browse villas near golf. The Carolinas and California are comfortable for golf for much of the year.
With Children
Walt Disney World and Universal in Orlando, and Disneyland in California, anchor many family holidays. For nature, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon and the Everglades are the major national parks, with bison, bears and manatees among the wildlife. Boat trips run from San Francisco Bay and Miami's waterways to whale watching off New England and Alaska.
Culture
Boston, Charleston, Savannah and Santa Fe are the historic towns. Major museums include the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian in Washington DC, while Chicago is known for its architecture and Miami for Art Deco and Art Basel each December. Markets such as Pike Place in Seattle and Chelsea Market in New York are good for casual eating, and festivals like New Orleans Mardi Gras and Coachella shape travel dates.
What We Can Arrange
Our concierge team can arrange private chefs, yacht charters, spa treatments and restaurant bookings, including tables at sought-after restaurants well in advance. Some villas suit a wedding. Minimum stays are often two to four nights, so shorter breaks are possible.

Where you base yourself decides most of the week. Our villas are all in the USA, with the deepest choice in Miami and South Florida and in Los Angeles and the surrounding hills, 121 villas in all. A bayfront house on Biscayne Bay and a gated canyon estate near Beverly Hills make very different holidays, and the table shows how travellers typically match areas to priorities.
Across both, many homes have private pools, home cinemas and hot tubs, and a high share sleep large groups, with five bedrooms the most common size, which suits multi-generational stays. Several waterfront properties have private boat docks.
| Traveller Type | Where to Stay | Why |

To narrow the list, browse villas with breathtaking views, homes within walking distance of the beach or those with a gym. Timing matters as much as the area, so check Best Time to Visit before fixing dates.
